Almost a thousand years of history have shaped the Château de La Sarraz since it was built in 1049. The castle is one of the three Swiss sites having obtained the European Heritage label due to its historical, artistic and cultural importance in European history. The Château de La Sarraz has some of the finest furniture and paintings collections in Switzerland.

After more than two and a half years of work, the Fondation du Château de La Sarraz has finally reopened its castle for visits on April 24th 2021.

Visionary mind Vincent Jaton created unique concepts and led the project from idea to complete museographic overhaul. The result is an amazing experience that makes use of contemporary technologies, perfectly integrated in the historic building.

The visit

At the entrance you will be given the key to the castle (in form of an NFC-enabled card), and this key will allow you to discover its many secrets! You’ll have to come and see for yourself, we’re not allowed to tell you about it here on our website…

Atracsys Interactive created a multitude of interactive exhibits in various rooms of the castle, resulting in a unique and immersive experience. For example, the key allows you to:

  • Trigger videos on wall screens and mirrors
  • Answer quizzes in the form of interactive games
  • Flip through the scanned pages of an ancient book
  • Other surprises

All solutions are available in 3 languages (FR / EN / DE).
