How can a dense horological exhibition be enriched without overloading display cases or disrupting the scenography? This was the challenge faced by the Musée d’Horlogerie du Locle.

The exhibition “Le Temps Chronométrique” is based on a concept by Vincent Jaton: an interactive museography approach that makes the history of watchmaking more accessible through immersive mediation.

An experience that unveils the objects

The visitor journey is built around six touchscreens integrated directly into the display cases.

Visitors move between historical content, technical details, and high-resolution photography revealing the precision and craftsmanship of the exhibited mechanisms and pieces. Certain interactions also trigger dynamic lighting effects, highlighting key objects and guiding the eye through the different historical periods.

An exhibition that evolves over time

Each visitor can explore the exhibition at their own pace, depending on their level of curiosity, from quick discovery to deeper technical exploration.

Thanks to our cloud-based Content Management System, the museum can independently update texts, images, and content, allowing the exhibition to evolve over time without altering the scenography.
