When an app truly responds to its user

Multi‑touch applications are changing the way we use digital tools. It’s no longer just about clicking or scrolling with a mouse. Every gesture can trigger a reaction, making the experience feel alive and genuinely engaging.

Compared to classic digital signage, interactive experiences capture attention much more effectively. They encourage people to explore longer and help them remember the content better. Studies show that 59% of people who interact with digital signage want to learn more about what’s advertised, highlighting how engagement naturally sparks curiosity. Interactive touchscreens can take this engagement even further by allowing users to explore content actively. (Reference : Mvix, Digital Signage Statistics).

Interactivity comes in many forms: touching, swiping, manipulating elements or observing real‑time data. These interactions don’t just make the experience more fun; they also improve engagement, help users absorb information more easily, and can even reduce the feeling of waiting. Gamification and personalised content also provide valuable insights into user preferences, making each interaction meaningful not only for the visitor but also for your business.

On site, visitors clearly show how captivating these interactions can be. At the two interactive tables of the “Experiences of Switzerland – Water, Power and Resistance” exhibition at the Swiss National Museum in Zurich, users performed around 470,000 interactions between July and the end of October 2025. This reflects a consistently high level of use throughout the day.

The main interaction is browsing slides within popups, which shows that visitors are genuinely engaging with the content and taking the time to explore it. Opening and closing popups — around 51,000 times each — points to exploratory behaviour: people navigate, return to specific information and try out different options. It’s active curiosity, not random tapping.

Combination with physical objects

Object recognition is a feature that automatically triggers digital content as soon as a physical object is detected. It adds a natural, surprising layer of interaction. An object can reveal an animation, a video or even a full presentation, giving visitors an intuitive and seamless way to discover content.

Showrooms

Interactive experiences can go far beyond presentations or games. Through touch, manipulation and exploration, a room — whether it’s a showroom, a training space or an event — transforms in real time into a place where people naturally learn, experiment and discover. These moments are memorable both for the audience and for the brand.
