Meet The Team - David
Meet the Team
Meet the talented and motivated people behind Immensive and learn more about who we are.
Meet David Bugat
Today, we would like to introduce to you, David Bugat Key account manager.
When did you join Immensive? Can you introduce yourself?
This month! (May 2021). And that means that I arrived at about the same time that we launched the new product Dive – our platform for virtual showroom.
Originally I am from the south-west of France but moved to Switzerland in 2012. And so I’m approaching my 10 years in Switzerland. I graduated with a Master degree in international business, specialized in Marketing, and have now gathered more than 15 years of work experience in diverse industries such as medical devices, automotive and software.
In recent years I am more and more passionate about innovative communication services.
What is your role within Immensive?
I am responsible for new business acquisition as well as customer and partner relationship management in the French and Spanish speaking world.
My strength is to listen to the clients’ needs and put forward unique and practical solutions together with our developers’ competences.
Since you just joined the team, can you tell us what your first impression of Immensive is?
I was first captivated by the innovative high level technology, completely made in-house, with a team that covers all necessary competences and which allows adaptability to all clients’ needs.
Thinking about it, the team is remarkable. I had a warm welcome and they are available for all questions.
And since I made contact with actual clients, I realize they are so happy with the services, that is a real plus for me.
I feel really comfortable doing my work in perfect conditions and with a solid team.
La Société Secrète Partnership
Good agreements make good friends
Immensive is happy to present its partnership with design agency La Société Secrète
lasocietesecrete.com
La Société Secrète, based in Annecy, France, is a small communication agency founded ten years ago. With many of their projects, including Maped and Vemedia, being implemented in 24 different countries, the agency is growing constantly.
The secret of their success is combining communication strategy and creative strategy. The goal of the communication strategy is to define the objectives to be achieved. That of the creative strategy is to support the communication with design assets. Thanks to these two pillars they were able to build the Abondance cheese campaign that is now known by the majority of people in the Haute-Savoie region.
For several years now, La Société Secrète and Immensive have had a partnership, and there is something in it for everyone. Indeed, Immensive calls upon the services of La Sociéte Secrète to create custom designs to satisfy PopupExperience customers.
“From a purely creative point of view, I would say that it has always been a collaboration that went very well as we have a lot of freedom. On the business side, it allows us to meet clients that we might not have access to if we were addressing them as La Société Secrète”, says Nicolas Girard, Account Manager of La Société Secrète.
The secret of this partnership is the mutual trust that both entities share. Immensive and its clients are always satisfied by the precision, creativity and quality of the work provided by La Société Secrète.
“Immensive has always been a success because your solutions are surprising and people love the way you manipulate content and interact with your tables”, says Nicolas.
Given the mutual satisfaction of both companies, this suggests that this partnership has many more years ahead of it.
ARTMYN: Museums and the Rise of New Interactive Solutions
Museums and the Rise of New Interactive Solutions
A discussion with ARTMYN, specialists of Fine Art experiences on screens, web browser, and mobile devices.

Over the last 20 years, new technologies have become a pillar of professional and private life. They are the indispensable tool in the creation of a modern and productive world. In a way, museums are under pressure to keep up to date and promote culture mediation via new technologies. However, digitizing works of art in a museum can take time. It requires a thorough reflection on the choice of works to be digitized, and thus obtaining the substantial budget for digitization.
Cultural mediation is a very interesting field according to Loïc Baboulaz, Co-founder of ARTMYN – company created in 2016 which aims to transform the way art pieces can be viewed and enjoyed on digital media – who are constantly offering new generations of tools and technological services for the art ecosystem, such as the immersive visualization of works in 5D, 3.5 billion pixels per square meter, 67 lights (UV, NIR, VL), and a 2x2m digitization area.
According to a study carried out by CARLA (UNIL University of Lausanne), LCAV (EPFL Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne) and ARTMYN, interactive displays – such as those used by Immensive – offer a memorization rate twice as high as traditional displays. The study shows that one month after an interactive exhibition, the memorization of the objects is much stronger than during a static exhibition.
Interactive experiences at museums cause the human brain to be more solicited. Visitors capture deeper information about the painting such as brush technique and colors. Guests are also able to manipulate a painting or an art piece on a screen by rotating and enlarging it in order to look at it with more precision and detail. New technologies can take visitors on a journey by creating films to explain the history of the art piece. These digital tools create experiences that usually only museum curators previously had access to.
ARTMYN tell us that interactive displays are a very attractive object for visitors of all ages. While children have few barriers with interactive screens, senior citizens adapt very easily once shown how it works.
In a study carried out by Professor Mohr (UNIL) in collaboration with ARTMYN, they were able to analyze different cognitive aspects and the way in which the works were appreciated during an exhibition at the Martin Bodmer Foundation. The results highlighted the aesthetic aspect, memory, experience, discovery, and revealed that there was no distinction of age, or of art professionals or, on the contrary, people who were not familiar with art.
Museums want to modernize in order to offer a rich experience to their visitors. This is now possible thanks to ARTMYN with their innovative digital tools and Immensive with our interactive multi-user applications. Museums no longer have to worry about for their transition to digital experiences with these two companies offering more and more sophisticated services for cultural institutions.
Photoshoot with Halloprod
Photoshoot with Halloprod
Who said that returning to work after a well-deserved vacation was complicated?
Last week was a lot of fun in our Lausanne office!
Local collaboration is a must
Immensive marketing team organized a photo shoot session with collaborators mainly from Switzerland and it was a pretty good time.
Halloprod, a Swiss company based in Rolle and specialized in professional photo and video, was in our office for a photo shoot to promote our tables.
Karen, marketing director of a real estate company located in the French speaking part of Switzerland, was willing to play the role of a model for us and we thank her a lot!
So, thanks to this essentially Swiss collaboration, Immensive is ready to start this season in the best conditions.
CRK meets Immensive

CRK agency was pleased to use Immensive solutions for their presentation as a way to involve everyone thanks to a guaranteed interactivity!
Immensive and CRK organized a mini-workshop on a very specific subject of digital signage: Do’s and Don’ts!
Beat Bruehwiler, our CEO, explained the advantages of multi-touch and interactive installations like ours and how they were efficient in transmitting messages.
Of course, everyone was able to try out the various modules and test the mini-games of the solutions.

Feature: USB Content Browser
USB Content Browser
USB Content Browser – Anything to add?
While your application can be updated at any time through the online Content Management System, sometimes a last minute presentation must be added during a meeting. Or maybe one of your collaborators, customers or suppliers, wishes to show you their latest PDF, video or PowerPoint presentation from his USB key. We’ve got you covered!
Thanks to our built in USB Content Browser, It is now possible to load files directly into your PopupExperience.
Once the USB key of your collaborator is connected to the touchscreen, a new menu appears on the screen. Now all compatible documents will be available and can be viewed like any other content in the application.
An efficient and intelligent way to make your future meetings and presentations more dynamic and immersive, isn’t it?
Feature: NFC Tag Reader
NFC Tag Reader
NFC Tag Reader – Bridging digital content and physical objects.
Communicating through a digital screen is commonplace today, making our PopupExperience apps perfect solutions to present your products via interactive images and videos. But sometimes it’s simply better when customers can touch and see these products for themselves.
As a way to bridge the gap between object and screen, we have integrated NFC (Near Field Communication) functionality into our apps. This technology is common in contactless payment cards, transport passes, etc.
Thanks to the NFC module, you can introduce your solutions around the screen and allow the visualization of specific content by interacting with physical objects. The interaction is dynamic, the wow-effect is present, and customers are even more involved in your presentation process.
There are many application examples, from the playful exploration of a product range up to personalized invitations: everything is possible. This feature can also be used internally to display exclusive content, e.g. to show a prototype, without making it public to unauthorized users.

Feature: Filter Module
Filter Module
Too much information can quickly become a mess!
While the PopupExperience provides a fluid and easy to use in depth navigation through tree structures and menus, it is not uncommon to have a lot of data items that are better laid out flat. This is often the case when looking at maps or other spatial information with multiple categories or other attributes.
Our new feature : filter module
This is why we have developed a high quality filtering module for our clients. Different tags can be defined and organized, presented through this fun module, and seamlessly integrated with the desired visuals.
Our customers have greatly benefited from this add-on. For instance Museum Bülach allows its visitors to filter locations by a number of tags divided into construction types and time periods.
Likewise, the Swiss Post found this filtering module advantageous during recruitment events: with just a few taps, the user can choose the region, sector and type of job, and thus quickly discover the positions that actually interest them.
Meet The Team - Beat
Meet the Team
Meet the talented and motivated people behind Immensive and learn more about who we are.
Today, we would like to introduce to you, Beat Bruehwiler, our Chief Executive Officer
Beat, can you introduce yourself?
I am one of the co-founders of Atracsys, which started as a spin-off from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL) back in 2004.
After completing my studies of Microenginnering/Robotics at EPFL, I went abroad for a year in order to learn a new language and make some first professional experiences in an international environment.
Upon my return to Switzerland, the Atracsys journey began with the development of high-end optical tracking devices for medical applications. Atracsys then spun off into Atracsys Interactive, which has since been rebranded as Immensive.
As one of the co-founders, can you tell us the story of Immensive?
The story began when Atracsys Sàrl was founded in 2004, dedicated to the development of optical tracking devices for the medical industry. In 2006 we took on the challenge to build a revolutionary (at that time) human-machine interface, based on the ideas put forward in the 2002 movie Minority Report – you know, the one where Tom Cruise tries to prove his innocence. With one single project of big impact a new business segment was born: Immensive.
Years later, after steadily growing the interactive team, Atracsys Interactive SA was spun off from Atracsys Sàrl at the end of 2016 to become an independent company. In early 2020, the company was rebranded as Immensive.
Today, Immensive has become a trusted partner for numerous national and international companies. We provide custom software development services, packaged applications, cloud-based services, as well as high-end multitouch hardware.
So, what’s it like being the CEO of a company like Immensive?
Being the CEO means that you are involved in every little aspect of the business, from strategy to product development to marketing, sales, accounting, HR, … this is both interesting and rewarding, but it also means that you don’t have time to focus on a specific thing for long. I’m very happy and proud to be surrounded by an extraordinary team of highly skilled individuals I can rely on.
My main goal is to create the best possible environment for our employees, such that they can fulfill their tasks in an efficient and enjoyable manner.
According to you, what are the assets of the company?
Our employees and our core values!
Naturally the composition of our team changes little by little through the years, but what seems to be a consistent and defining characteristic is the appreciation of a high quality of life, or life-work balance. This directly translates to a great team spirit where people respect each other and enjoy spending time together, even away from the office
Second, the Immensive brand stands for reliable, high quality products and services. Personally I think this is one of the most important core values for any business to embrace, because it will result in long-term customer satisfaction.
What have you learned from your experience?
Well, with a little bit of luck, everything will work out fine in the end. We have been faced with a couple of difficult situations, the most recent one being the COVID-19 pandemic (of which we can’t possibly fathom the long-term consequences as of this moment / May 2020).
The biggest lesson I learned throughout the years – and that applies to my professional as well as my private life – is that “rocking the boat” once in a while is quite a positive thing; it forces you to actively adjust to an ever-changing environment – as opposed to being too comfortable for too long.
What do you particularly like in your line of work?
As mentioned above, in my specific job there’s not really a precise “line of work”, it’s more a 3-dimensional playground. I love working with my colleagues to put ideas forward and resolving problems together, as much as presenting our products to new clients and witness their fascination first hand. But at the end of the day, receiving positive feedback from satisfied clients is certainly what motivates me the most; it’s the most direct and honest reward there is, and it is what moves the light of the tunnel a little bit closer in difficult times.
What project was the most significant for you?
There is no single project I could point out. Every project – big or small – is most significant at the time we are working on it. Because behind every project is a paying customer who deserves to get the best possible result for his investment. And from a higher perspective, as co-founder and owner of Immensive, the company’s journey itself and ultimately our economic success is what I define my most significant “project”.
